If you love iced matcha lattes but hate when the ice melts and dilutes the flavor, these frozen matcha latte cubes are the fix. Prep a tray in minutes, and they'll be ready to drop into cold milk for a refreshing drink that gets creamier as it melts.
Ingredients
-
2 teaspoons matcha powder (cafe grade or high-quality culinary grade matcha)
-
2 tablespoons hot water (175°F / 80°C)
-
1 cup milk of choice (oat, almond, soy, or whole milk)
-
1–2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
Directions
Sift the matcha green tea powder into a small bowl to break up clumps.
Add hot water and whisk using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until smooth and foamy.
Stir in the milk and sweetener, combining well.
Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze for 4+ hours or overnight.
Store cubes in a freezer-safe bag or an airtight container.
Putting It All Together
Add 5–6 cubes to a glass.
Pour a chilled choice of milk over the top.
Stir occasionally as they melt into a velvety, earthy iced latte.
