Peppermint always seems to find its way onto our winter list, and for good reason. It brings a bright, refreshing lift to the colder months, and when you pair it with white chocolate and matcha, something really comforting happens. This Peppermint White Hot Chocolate Matcha Latte has become a repeat favorite in our kitchen. We prepare it using our café-grade matcha and our 100% natural peppermint loose-leaf tea, so the flavours stay clean, refreshing, and authentic. Let's begin!
Ingredients
For the peppermint flavoring
-
1 teaspoon peppermint loose-leaf tea
-
120 ml hot water (around 90–95°C)
For the matcha base
-
1 teaspoon café-grade matcha
-
30 ml warm water (about 75–80°C)
For the latte
-
150 ml milk or your preferred alternative
-
30–40 g (chopped or white chocolate chips)
-
Optional: crushed peppermint candy or a small mint leaf for topping
Directions
Brew the peppermint tea
Steep the peppermint loose-leaf tea for 3–4 minutes, strain, and set aside.
Prepare the matcha
Sift the matcha into a bowl to avoid clumping. Add warm water and whisk until smooth and bright.
Warm the milk with the white chocolate
Heat the milk. Add the chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips and stir until fully melted. Keep the heat low so the mixture stays smooth.
Bring everything together
Pour the peppermint tea into your mug. Add the melted white-chocolate milk. Finish with the matcha layer on top. Pour slowly to keep the layers intact.
Serve & enjoy!
Serve with a sprinkle of crushed peppermint candy or a small mint leaf for garnish.
