Summer is all about light, fresh, and hydrating recipes that are quick to make, refreshing to enjoy, and perfect for beating the heat. We’ve been loving summer smoothies with seasonal fruits, and now it’s time to add a little matcha green tea to the mix. Here’s a quick Summer Glow recipe made with fresh ingredients to keep you hydrated, energized, and packed with antioxidants. Let’s get started!

Ingredients
-
½ cup ripe papaya (fresh or frozen)
-
½ cup frozen strawberries
-
½ frozen banana (for natural sweetness and creaminess)
-
1 teaspoon matcha powder (good quality, sifted)
-
½ cup coconut milk (or oat milk/almond milk/plant-based milk)
-
¼ cup plain yogurt (or coconut yogurt for dairy-free)
-
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
-
A few ice cubes if you want it extra chilled
-
Optional: Juice of ½ a lime
Directions
Add all the ingredients to a blender: papaya, strawberries, banana, matcha green tea powder, coconut milk, yogurt, sweetener, and lime juice.
Prepare the fruits
If using fresh papaya, peel it, remove the seeds, and chop it into chunks.
Use frozen strawberries straight from the freezer. If fresh, hull and freeze them for a thicker smoothie.
Use a frozen banana for creaminess. If you don’t have frozen bananas, fresh bananas work, but you might want to add extra ice.
Sift the matcha powder
Sift one teaspoon of matcha powder through a fine mesh sifter into a matcha bowl to break up any clumps.
Add all ingredients to the blender
Into a high-speed blender, add papaya, strawberries, banana, matcha powder, milk of choice, yogurt, sweetener (optional), and lime juice (optional).
Add ice cubes if you want your smoothie to be thicker and extra cold.
Blend
Start blending on low speed for about 15 seconds to break down the fruits.
Increase the speed to high and blend for an additional 30–45 seconds, until the smoothie is completely creamy and smooth.
If it’s too thick, add a little extra coconut milk or your milk of choice and blend again until it reaches your preferred consistency.
Taste and adjust
Give it a quick taste. If you want it sweeter, you can add a little more honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup and blend a little again.
Serve
Pour the smoothie into a tall glass or a mason jar.
Optional: top with extra fresh strawberries, papaya chunks, or a sprinkle of chia seeds for a little crunch.
Enjoy immediately while cold and fresh.
